At Least 27 Dead After Shooting At Texas Church

At least 27 people died and many were injured after a gunman opened fire in a Sutherland Springs, Texas, church on Sunday.

During the church service around 11:30 a.m. local time, a cashier across the street from First Baptist Church heard around 20 shots fired, CNN reported.

Police chased the shooter — who is currently unidentified — until he died after crossing into a neighboring county. He reportedly wore full combat gear when he opened fire on dozens of people, including a 2-year-old child, the Daily Mail reported.

It’s unclear whether the shooter took his own life or police killed him.

Both Texas Governor Greg Abbott and President Donald Trump responded on Twitter:

As Trump noted, the FBI is working at the scene.
