ABC political talk show The View, which now does not even have a single token conservative voice on its panel, has been setting new records for stupid comments made about our sitting president. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg recently reached an all-time low when she claimed that President Donald Trump doesn’t know where Puerto Rico is.
The hosts of the ABC program criticized Trump’s comments about giving aid to Puerto Rico following the devastation of Hurricane Maria. Claimed Goldberg, “I wonder if he realizes that these are American citizens in Puerto Rico. This is part of America.” Joy Behar predictably agreed, saying, “Maybe he doesn’t know that!”
The hosts later doubled down on their ignorance, with Joy saying about Trump, “He didn’t criticize Harvey, the ones in Texas.” Answered Whoopi, “No. I don’t think he realizes that Puerto Rico is part of the United States.” Joy continued, “Well he’s been told that.” Said Whoopi, “I don’t think he realizes that. He didn’t know Hawaii was part of the United States either.”
The hosts then complained that Trump didn’t do enough for Puerto Rico, and they predictably brought race into it. said co-host Sunny Hostin, “I hope it’s not because Puerto Rico has a lot of brown people. And I hate to put it out there but I really hope that that’s not the case, that people don’t realize that these are your brothers and sisters.”
Whoopi and friends’ words did not go over well with viewers. Responded one internet commenter sarcastically, “Hey, thanks, The View, I didn’t realize that Florida and Texas only had white people.” Is The View the most biased show on TV?
